A Meeting Platform for Women
The International Women’s Club Edinburgh (IWCE) provides a meeting platform for women presently resident in Edinburgh and its environs. It is welcoming to those who have an international background, and to those who have experience of living, working, and travelling extensively abroad, as well as to those who are expatriates. The membership is diverse, there is no division of age, nationality, or life stage amongst our members.
A Thriving Association
The IWCE is managed by a board of volunteers elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting which is held in May. The board is assisted in running the various interest groups by members who are willing to also contribute time and effort to its activities.
History
The International Women's Club Edinburgh was founded in April 2000 by a small group of international women, many of these founding members are still active in the Club today. The IWCE celebrated its silver anniversary during the 2025/26 session with various events throughout the period including a luncheon, a glamorous charity fundraiser and a fabulous afternoon tea/fashion show.
Open Door Forum
The IWCE is a member of the Open Door forum of International Women's Clubs. "Open Door" aspires to facilitate and promote inter-club contact and communication between autonomous International Women's Associations which are non-political, non-religious, and non-commercial, and where membership is open to all nationalities.
The Open Door network is administered through the means of a directory of member associations with club and contact details of presidents and international coordinators.

Completed applications are reviewed by the Board to ensure applicants meet the club's International experience criteria.
