Recent Outings, Tours and
Activities:
- Tour of the World Headquarters of The
Royal Bank of Scotland at Gogarburn
- Picasso on Paper - members of the IWCE
had a superb guided tour of this exhibition at the Dean Gallery
- Glenkinchie Distillery at Pencaitland,
with an exhibition at the Visitors Centre, a guided tour of the
distillery and an opportunity to sample their 10 year old single
malt whisky and compare it to others.
- A visit to The Royal Commission on the
Ancient and Historical monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) which has
responsibility for recording, interpreting and collecting information
about the built environment of Scotland
- Silver: Made In Scotland - members had
an fascinating guided tour of this exhibition at the National
Museum of Scotland
- Glasgow Women’s Library Tour and
Women in History Walk – fortunately the rainy day did not
stop the enjoyment of this ‘virtual’ experience
- The City Art Centre, renowned for its
extensive programme of temporary exhibitions; members had the
opportunity to catch a few
- A day at the Musselburgh Races was
enjoyed by many IWCE members – a wonderful day out and no
shirts lost!
- The Summer Outing was to Pitlochry Festival
Theatre, where a lovely lunch was followed by the Tom Stoppard
play, “Arcadia”
