International Women's Club Edinburgh

Mission Statement

The mission statement of the IWCE is to expand upon the rich tapestry of nationalities and cultures of its members and in doing so promote cultural awareness, social networking, philanthropic endeavours, women's issues, and to assist newcomers in their knowledge and understanding of Scotland.

Founded 11th April 2000

The International Women's Club, Edinburgh was founded by a small group of women searching for a multi-national, multi-cultural, diverse, organisation in the city. The culmination of their efforts resulted in the inaugural meeting of the Club being held on the 27th September 2000. Hosted by its first Patron, The Lady Provost, Mrs. Janis Milligan, the City Chambers was the perfect setting for such a momentous occasion.

The main focus of the Club is to provide women of every nationality living in the Edinburgh area with the opportunity to meet each other regularly to share their culture, history, art, language and culinary traditions. In addition to the meetings which take place monthly, a variety of tours and activities are also arranged.

Within the International Women's Club, Edinburgh, international and Scottish lifestyles are intertwined, highlighted and enjoyed.
